IPTV and VoD Services in the Informatization of Society

Abstract

This article explains the implementation of IPTV and VoD services worldwide. Main actors involved in this kind of business and technological structure to be executed are detailed. The impact that would arise from introducing this promising and novel service in the informatization process of Cuban society using different access technologies available in ETECSA is highlighted. Finally, benefits for Cuban informatization project, considering its wide scope and the significant decrease of investment costs, are referred to.
