Business intelligence: a feasible solution for technological infraestructure monitoring

Abstract

The Information Technology Company (ETI) has a data center that houses a series of services tat are used by different entities and laboratories of the BioCubaFarma business group. Services that in many cases must be active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. So, the downtime of the datacenter and therefore the services it provides is less and less tolerable. Hence the need to have parameters that allow us to measure the percent availability of these services and therefor the datacenter in order to improve their quality. To achieve this, it was decided to apply business intelligence, which is nothing more than the ability to transform data into information, and information into knowledge, in order to have a greater capacity for analysis and the decision-making process is more optimal.
