Predicting Electric Field Intensity of Macrocells in Urban Areas in VHF Band

Abstract

When establishing coverage zones for systems like mobile radio communication, television, FM radio broadcasting and other ultrashort-waves emissions, it is necessary to predict the level of electric field intensity. Associated literature suggests a variety of methods aiming at solving this extremely complex task. This paper analyzes these methods and introduces a hybrid method which compares the accuracy of predictions to the results of measures done in Havana City.
