Abstract

In this paper, the author easily explains how signals are subject to changes during their propagation through optical fibers as it occurs in other transmission means that is to say, they suffer a process of degradation tinged with attenuating and dispersing effects. He also deals with the different causes that originate these phenomena in fiber optics.
