Abstract

WiFi is a wireless local area network which allows PCs, Laptops, and PDAs send and receive data from any place within the coverage range of a wireless basic station (HOTSPOT). The article refers to the three versions of the physical layer of the standard 802.11 (a-b-g). Basic topologies of wireless networks as well as their coverage area and applications are shown
