Replacing PBX with analog extensions using cloud-installed VoIP
Abstract
The heart of every communications system in a hotel is the Private Branch Exchange (PBX), in charge of making the connections between the hotel’s internal telephones and the output to the public telephone network. The use of traditional PBX constitutes a neuralgic aspect in this sense and constitutes a problem both for the client and for the service provider in the network, the former due to their high cost and the limited number of extensions, while The latter are considerably affected by the old signaling protocols that they use to connect to their network. The proposed solution allows the client to have a hybrid equipment capable of integrating the analog terminals to a VoIP exchange, which makes it a
very flexible and economical system compared to traditional PBX.
