Solutions in the customers identification of WiFi Bus

Abstract

In recent years, the use of WiFi technology for Internet access has expanded to reach public transportation, where it is applied mainly with the aim of improving customer satisfaction during travel and thus position yourself with advantages before the competition. In our country, this modality had its origins in the year 2022, when ETECSA began to provide the service known as WiFi Bus, which has been operating since that date on panoramic buses and ships in the tourism sector. This article presents the work carried out to guarantee location, including customer identification, an important security aspect that had not been achieved and that prevented the compatibility of the system by the competent bodies. The solutions described contributed to the implementation of the WiFi Bus system on a large scale.
