Telecommunication Personal Identifier

Abstract

The significant growth of the telecommunication sector and the subsequent development of technology and service have set up the goal of releasing users from the network and service through a personal communication service. In other words, users have access to any kind of service, anywhere, anytime and from any terminal. This paper briefly presents three of the possible solutions to achieve these aims: Universal Personal Telecommunications (UPT), Universal Communication Identifier (UCI) and Telephone Number Mapping (ENUM).
