Abstract

As a result of all measurements we get from a productive system, we can achieve more efficient processes, reduce energy costs and get to know the pattern of running a production area, what we might call consumer habits. Wireless sensor networks enable us to remotely control these industrial processes. This research involves the design and development of a system for measuring electrical parameters, using collaborative sensor networks, efficient in terms of safety and comfort provided by the user, and economical in terms of energy savings and prices for construction. This consists of a central node and several measurement nodes that communicate between them via XBee in API mode and communicating with each other through a mesh network. The central node sends the data received from the measurement nodes to a computer in which a desktop application developed in RAD Studio XE7 runs. In that application data current and voltage measured by each node are displayed and besides them the instantaneous power is plotted. The system can be implemented both in industry and in residential areas for commercial purposes. In each of these application areas you can take advantage of remote monitoring, which can solve different needs while complemented with the interaction and the use of different technologies and other existing tools.
