Abstract

The demand for high speeds and capacities in wireless data communication, with increasing traffc of services such as high defnition video, video calls and the synchronization of photos and videos of the mobile phone, poses a challenge that is understood to be solved with the work that is taking place in the 5th Generation wireless networks (5G). One strategy that is presented in this framework is the use of a large number of antennas, so it is necessary to know as soon as possible and be prepared for this new paradigm. This article describes one of the technologies that have the focus of attention today and that are framed in the MIMO Massive denomination: (Multiple Input Multiple Output). It promises signifcant gains that offer the ability to accommodate more users at higher data speeds with greater reliability and consuming less energy. Using the NI MIMO Massive software architecture, researchers can build massive MIMO benchmarks for prototype large-scale antenna systems using award-winning LabVIEW system design software and state-of-the-art software-defned radios (SDRs).
