Abstract

The development of telecommunications in Cuba has made it possible to diversify services and increase their number progressively. Today special attention is paid to Internet access services, which began to expand with the opening of navigation rooms, then through wireless fdelity technology and, recently, with the introduction of the third and fourth generation of mobile telephony. The number of users has increased rapidly in a few years and the Telecommunications Company of Cuba has the commitment and responsibility to offer the best possible service. to achieve this, it is necessary to systematically optimize the national data network. The present work focuses on the Internet Protocol / Multiprotocol Label Switching backbone and the improvement of the connectivity of Internet access services via Wireless Fidelity and mobile telephony in order to increase availability. We analyzed the real scenarios in each case and the advantages and disadvantages of implementing different mechanisms selected to improve availability. The result achieved is based on the combination of different protocols that accelerate the detection of failures and guarantee the end-to-end protection of the services in question when equipment or links are interrupted, minimizing the loss of packages and constituting an economically feasible solution.
