Abstract

This paper proposes a study on the OSRR resonant metamaterials that, conveniently distributed over the power lines, solve the limited bandwidth of the microstrip antennas. With the proposed models it is possible to achieve bandwidth increments ranging between 6.42% and 6.72%, and the inconveniences caused to the radiation characteristics (directivity and gain) of the antennas by the inclusion of metamaterials, are solved.
