Abstract

In this paper, a summary of the solution for the design and performance of a new TV distribution network, totally supported in backbone IP/MPLS with IMS modern technology within ETECSA is provided. This new conception will allow to eliminate totally the TV distribution network supported by TDM technology (SDH/DWDM) from a network of vertical TV services (at present) to a horizontal NGN-IMS platform of services, where TV could converge with the rest of voice, data and mobile services and, thus, to create the conditions for a future 4 Play platform available to all population in a coming future.
