Migration tendency of telecommunications services towards internet

Abstract

In this paper, the current tendencies and preference of users towards services provided by the OTTs over Internet, the rapid growing of users in relation to each service and the present competence with the services provided by local telecommunications operator are analyzed; likewise, the impact of transmission resources on local telecommunications operators due to OTT service provision is evaluated.

Finally, the introduction of metrics for assessing QoE (Quality over Experience) on these new OTT scenarios, starting from experiences already consolidated on worldwide IPTV deployment according to the UIT-T working group WT-26 criteria.
