Tests Methodology of the IPTV service over GPON technology

Abstract

This work analyzes the test protocol to be used for the validation of the Broadcast TV (BTV) service over GPON access technology installed at Cayo Coco and Jardinesdel Rey tourist resorts. The work consists of an agenda constituted by three sections: the first one is related to the relevant theoretical aspects of GPON and to the BTV service, the second one concentrates on the main recommendations of the ITU that a IPTV service must comply according to the DSL Forum WT-126, and the third one shows the tools and test methodology used in such tourist premises in order to validate the quality of the IPTV service in the BTV modality. At the end, there are several recommendations associated to the applicability of this model to other access technologies in a fixed and mobile telecommunications network.
