Software Application to Support and Manage Corporate Environmental Indicators

Abstract

Nowadays, many companies put big efforts into ways to understand, show and improve their environmental performance supported on information processing and indicators definition, which contribute to strategic decision-making process associated to corporate environmental performance. In this research, a software application to manage and store environmental indicators as a basis for assessing this parameter in organizations is proposed. The application allows the creation of reports from the data stored, and provides a Global Environmental Performance Index to know the compliance level of environmental goals. A case study of four power stations in the province of Villa Clara is presented.
