Wow! On the Road to the Cloud

Abstract

This article addresses issues related to the technological paradigm known as Cloud Computing, from the experiences of a group determined to know and use this model to meet telematics services needs in organizations. The definition and precepts assumed in software building for creating environments that provide services according to the concepts of cloud computing are showed. The architecture, features, functionalities and potential benefits to be obtained with the use of this tool are described as well. Finally, some approaches, views and opinions on various topics related to its implementation are shared, with the purpose of participating in the debate and efforts aiming at the deployment of this new ICT, as part of the informatization process of our society
