Migration Process to Free Software in the Vice presidency of Information Technology at ETECSA

Abstract

In the field of Information Technology (IT), ETECSA has begun to replace proprietary operating systems with open source systems. Within this context, the Vice presidency of Information Technology has migration to free software as one of its strategic objectives. This will be achieved by implementing a project, whose stages are based on the Cuban Migration Guide developed by the University of Informatics Sciences. This article shows how the process of migration in this area materialized and focuses on the last stage, which includes the migration of services and processes in the domain tisw. etecsa.cu. Even though the project is in progress, important results have already been obtained.
