Considerations for Selecting a Mobile WiMAX Based upon 802.16e Standard

Abstract

This paper considers some aspects regarding the implementation of broadband wireless networks based upon the 802.16e-2005 standard. Its aim is to facilitate, according to technical criteria, the selection of products on the international market that could potentially be introduced in our telecommunications network in order to interconnect them to the Next Generation Network that is developing in the country, through the IP-MPLS transport network. It addresses paramount issues for the assessment of operating system parameters during the acceptance tests, for its possible deployment in areas without telephone and data infrastructure.
