Abstract

This paper describes the protocol architecture used for signalling message transport in Public Switched Telephone Network based on packet switching over IP networks, known as SIGTRAN. The study includes the causes that led to the creation of this structure by the Signalling Transport working group of the IETF. An analysis of transmission protocol with flow control used in this architecture is also presented.
