Resonance is a common phenomenon in industrial and commercial electrical facilities due to the use of nonlinear charges. This article gives a brief analysis on parallel resonance as the most frequently phenomenon when trying to correct the power factor under harmonic presence. Two actual cases in different facilities and the results derived from a single-phase circuit built to enter into resonance with harmonics 11 are shown. The implementation design was based on Pspice and results were validated in the circuit built with a digital oscilloscope.
